As we wrap up 2019 and start planning towards 2020 it's a perfect time to reflect on the past year and trends in the catering industry around the world.

The catering industry continues to thrive globally, with the industry experiencing annualised growth of 4.6% in the 5 years to 2019*. Based on $268M of catering orders placed through the FoodStorm system around the world, we have crunched the numbers to identify patterns across the industry, including popular menu items, order and delivery times, shift allocations, and even the continued rise of the smashed avocado!

The data was collected during a 1 year period between 8 December 2018 and 8 December 2019 across multiple countries, and gives an interesting insight into the state of catering today, which can be used to indicate trends for the future.
